IN PERSIAN MYTHOLOGY, the Persian food is so delicious and tempting the devil uses it to corrupt the king of the land, causing two serpents to sprout from the king's shoulders, turning him into an evil tyrant.
Although you don't have to worry about seeing snakes when you visit the Mediterranean Grill, the now two year old Persian restaurant that opened in Bryn Mawr, you will be tempted to eat everything on the menu -- and at the end of your meal, you'll feel like a king.
Chef/owner Tony Alidjani, a Tehran born Persian American in the U.S. for the past 22 years, shortened his commute from Newtown Square when he opened the comely Mediterranean Grill on Lancaster Avenue in what used to be Walter's Swiss Bakery. After running a trio of restaurants in Center City, including the most recent, Roya, a Medi-Persian eatery at 18th and Sansome, the engineer turned-chef is thrilled to have his BYOB on the Main Line. Not only is he closer to home, but he's closer to the local Persian and Armenian community. |
